Trip to Galway for Science Week.

3rd and 4th class went to see a show in Leisureland during Science Week. We got a bus from school and arrived in Galway just in time before the show started. There were two other schools at the show with us. We went to see the show called 'Exploding Vegetables and other fuels of the future!'. See some of the pictures below of what happened on the day.

The girl's name at the show was Scientific Sue! She asked Stephanie to be a volunteer for one of the experiments.

Some of the explosions were very loud so we had to cover our ears. When the pressure got too much things started to explode.

Scientific Sue told us how the Great Fire of London started and used Norbert the Dragon to demonstrate how fire can spread.

In this balloon lots of paper stayed at the top and some went to the bottom. This showed us there was another type of pressure other than gravity pulling on the pieces of paper.

We were asked to help out with another experiment. We got a prize for taking part.

Miss Lardner had to try and catch a flying object from the rocket! They used a dyson vacuum cleaner to launch the rocket through the air.
