Kenya
We are learning about Kenya this week. We all did projects on Kenya. It is a very hot country. The biggest mountain in Kenya is Mount Kenya. It is the second biggest mountain in Africa. Nairobi is the capital of Kenya. The biggest lake in Kenya is Lake Victoria. It is nearly as big as Ireland! If you want to see our projects come to the third and fourth classroom where they are on display.

Happy Mother's Day to all our Mothers
Wonderful Mother
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old.
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold.
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see.
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me
We made cards and badges for our mammies.
Class Photo

Happy St Patrick's Day!
This is 4th class with our St. Patrick's day art work.
This is 3rd class with our St. Patrick's day art work.
We painted glass jars with glass paints and decorarted them for St. Patrick's day. Miss Lardner gave us candles to place inside.
We made Irish leprechauns out using old kitchen rolls. We painted them green and once they were dry we added our own details!
Here we are painting the old kitchen rolls.
Here we are decorating the leprechauns.
Here are some of the finished leprechauns.
We used glass paints to paint our candle holders.
It was nice to decorate the glass.
We tried not to get any on our hands.
We painted using the colours Green, White and Gold for St. Patrick's day!
It was relaxing to use the glass paints.

Planting the seeds
We sorted out the seeds for our scallions, cabbage and lettuce plants.
Today we planted the cabbage seeds carefully in the soil. We made sure they were covered in compost and then watered the seeds. Then we covered the container with a black bag to keep out the light. We will leave it covered for 2/3 days.
