Water Poems

We have been busy writing poems about water. We had fun experimenting with rhyming words and everyone came up with a different idea!

Water
Rain is falling,
To the ground,
Like a tear drop
on the ground.

When it falls,
It falls on me,
But when it lands
It fills me with glee.

The rivers do flow,
The clouds do go,
The rain does stop,
And the sun comes to glow.

Water

Water, oh water
I think you are nice
If you freeze up
You will turn in to ice

If I get burnt by your steam
I run in to Mammy and she fixes
It with cream

There are some days that I have
Lost my dog,
My dog got swallowed up by the fog

Water, oh water
I love you so,
When I’m not happy
I like a rainbow.

By Cassidy Mahon (3rd Class)

I went to the waterfall
to have a swim.
My Daddy was watching.
He tripped and fell in!

Learning about 'The Stone Age' (7000BC -4000BC)
We learned that the stone age people painted what they hunted. We did pictures of cave paintings. We also learned that the stone age people made there own weapons. We looked up stone age weapons on the internet and we found out that they made their weapons out of flint, sticks and maybe seaweed. They made jewellery with teeth and bones. They followed the rivers to get food. They followed their food and they can't build proper houses so they live in caves and under trees and bushes. If they kill a a lot of mammoths they can rest in a hut that they made out of skin, bones, reeds and rushes.

We also learned that they hunt deer, wild pigs, wild horses and mammoths. They gather and pick fruits, nuts and berries. We think that most stone age people come from Scotland in search of food. To travel on the water they made boats out of sticks, animal skins, seaweed and branches and rafts.

I like learning about the stone age. It was really cool. It was one of my favourite things in History. I learned that it was a really long time ago and back then they had to hunt animals to eat. They drew pictures in caves of animals. They had to wear animal skins as clothes. That is my favourite thing I have learned so far. We drew pictures of cave drawings. My picture is the on the top right hand side with the Northern Lights!

In my picture the man was trying to kill the mammoth because he wanted his skin to keep them warm! They ate the meat from the mammoth. In the stone age they made their weapons from sticks and stones and bones.

This is a picture of a caveman killing a bison in the stone age in a cave. There is a crow in the front and in the backround there's a volcano and some birds flying in the air. The clothes that the man is wearing are made out of animal skin and fur.

We are holding Stone Age tools my dad made. In the Stone Age, hunters and gatherers made tools out of wood and flint. They needed tools to make weapons for hunting food.

This picture is about the stone age. Two warriors are trying to kill the buffolo for meat and clothing.
