Dutch Cheese - Edam CheeseWe learned that Edam cheese comes from Holland. It has a red wax coating on the outside so it is easy to recognise.
Miss Lardner brought us in some Edam cheese to taste. There is a town called Edam in the north of Holland.
We put the cheese on crackers. It was nice cheese and not too strong. There are lots of cows in Holland. Cheese is made from their milk.
Everyone got to try Edam cheese. Edam is made spelt backwards. Edam cheese is made in the Netherlands and is popular all over the world.

Athletics Winner
I went to Athlone for my Connaught running competition. I was doing 60 metres under 10 and the under 10 relay. I came 3rd in the 60 metres and I came 1st in my relay. I was delighted. It was raining a lot but I still had lots of fun. I was running as part of the Athenry Athletic club. There were lots of other athletic clubs there also. When it was all finished all the athletic clubs gathered in the canteen and two people gave out all the medals. I have two brilliant trainers they are Martin Hynes and Sinead Healy.

School Tour 3rd June 2009
On our school tour we went bowling for about an hour. Then we went back on the bus and we went to the docks to see the Volvo ocean race village. First we went in the dome to watch a little movie about it then we went to see two small dog fish, two starfish and a big crab in a little tank then we went to meat a crew member from the Ericsson 4 boat. When they’re racing they need to eat something on board and they have to bring this food that looks something like porridge. Then we went to a shop and we got to buy something. We got a free ice-cream and a free sweet from Mrs. Harnett! It was great. It took a long time to get back to school.
